2012 Events & News
We celebrated Joanna's Birthday on 13th January with a beautiful cake sent by her family in Poland.
Happy Birthday, Joanna! Ad Multos Annos!
We celebrated the Feast Day of our Patron, Saint Thomas of Canterbury, on 29th December with Mass followed by drinks and nibbles.
It was lovely to see those of you that came along.
Well done to our young waiters, and thank you to those who helped organise the nibbles and do the washing up!
Thank you to all who attended our Deal Foodbank Ecumenical Taize Prayer Service on 20th December, and to Ben and Clare for all their hard work arranging the Service.
We look forward to hosting another prayer service later in the New Year.
Thank you for your continued and generous support of the Foodbank, especially during Christmas.
The donations you left at the Crib have now been taken to St Richard's CE Church on Mill Hill for distribution.
On the Feast of Christ the King the Children's Liturgy Group decorated crown shaped tea light holders, which they presented as part of the offertory and which were lit along the altar rails for the rest of the Mass.
After Mass the children held a cake sale and lucky dip to raise funds for the Church Christmas Tree, which they will decorate with their Christmas prayers and promises after the 9am Mass on 23rd December.
Thank you to everyone who baked and bought cakes!
Congratulations to Josie O’Keeffe who was presented with a silver lapel pin and certificate by Fr Dermot Byrne MHM at the 9am Mass on 1st July 2012.
This was in recognition of all her hard work for Missio.
Josie has been our APF-Mill Hill Local Secretary for nearly 20 years!
Her certificate was signed by Archbishop Vincent Nichols, Fr Anthony Chantry – General Superior of the Mill Hill Missionaries and Canon James Cronin, National Director of Missio.
Congratulations to Lucy whose book "Journeying with Jesus" was published by Bloomsbury on 8th November. The idea for the book came out of the Parish. Our First Holy Communion will take place next year on the Feast of Corpus Christi (2nd June).
Please see Fr Duncan or Monica Russell if you are going to be aged 7 or over on 2nd June 2013 and you are interested in joining the programme.
Our website wasn't up in time for all the photographs from this year's First Communion - but here is one of them!
